What is the Red Carpet and do we need to do it?
-
The Red Carpet is an optional 30 second red carpet performance put on by your team.
-
It is completely optional; but you won't qualify for the 'best costume' trophy and accolades for days if you don't!
-
If you've been nominated to participate, you’ll need to submit a 30-second song and bring the energy on the night.
Do we need to dress up?
-
Also optional - but highly encouraged!
-
There’s serious kudos for best dressed, so whether you go full bogan, bushranger or Bondi lifesaver… we say send it.
What food and drink options are there?
-
Pre-order your Great Australian Tuck Shop Platters to make the start of your night a breeze!
-
The Backyard Barbie Platter - Cheese Cubes, Jatz and Pickled Onion

Can I bring my own food and drink?
-
No BYO drinks or commercially purchased food (like takeaways).
-
This is a licensed event, all beverages must be purchased through the bar. We strongly encourage you to support the Tuck Shop (pre-ordered) and the food trucks that will be there on the night - every dollar you spend within the school grounds will find its way back to the kids with a hefty donation.
Can kids go?
-
No. Book that babysitter. It’s time for you to put your feet up. This is an adults-only event (18+).
Is this a cash-free event?
-
Yes - this will be a cashless event.
-
Please bring a card or digital payment option for purchases on the night - remember that face ID won't work through prosthetics, wigs or face paint... although this is bloody hilarious to watch at the bar!
What are the rules for table decorations and props?
We love a big, bold Aussie setup – but everyone needs a clear view of the stage and screen.
This year your tables will be 2.4m rectangle trestle tables with 10 seats per table.
The basics:
-
Go big, but keep it within your table airspace please (no overhangs)
-
Nothing that blocks views for the sheilas and blokes behind
-
Keep taller items to the outer edge of your table
-
No rods or structures over the centre of your table - thank you
-
Make sure it's stable and will not fall or blow away
Got something tall or oversized?
If it’s above head height, email wsstrivianight@gmail.com for the OK. We may place you on the outer edge so you can go all out.
A few hard no’s:
-
No glitter or confetti
-
No fire or smoke
-
No glass or hazardous items
Other bits to know:
-
You’re responsible for removing large props
-
Anything on wheels needs prior approval
-
Keep it creative, keep it safe, and give it a red-hot crack.
Will there be water, tea and coffee?
Yes, there will be free water, tea and coffee available throughout the evening.
Will there be security?
