Mini Builders

Prep-Year 2

At Wilston Kids Care, our clubs are designed to inspire creativity, foster learning, and build valuable friendships among students. One of our favourite programs is Mini Builders, an engaging afternoon club for Prep to Year 2 students. Focused on developing skills in construction, engineering, and STEM. Mini Builders encourages young minds to explore robotics using our interactive LEGO robotics kits. This low-pressure environment promotes critical, logical, step-by-step thinking, spatial reasoning, and experimentation while nurturing new friendships in a fun, collaborative junior group setting.

Foodie Friday
Prep - Year 6

By far our most popular Club, Foodie Friday is the perfect way for students to wrap up their week! Each Friday, students dive into creating a new recipe or decorating a special treat. Not only do they take pride in enjoying something they've made themselves and sharing it with their families, but they also gain invaluable hands-on experiences that develop real-life skills.
Through this program, students learn essentials such as kitchen safety, risk management, careful reading, and fine motor skill development. Most importantly, they foster a love for learning, creating, and exploring their imaginative culinary abilities. Delicious, educational, and fun!

Lego
Prep - Year 6

Our Lego Club, inspired by the hit show 'Lego Masters,' has become so popular that we've expanded it to include both Junior and Senior clubs, meeting on different days to accommodate the enthusiasm. Each week, children dive into a new theme, sparking their imagination as they begin constructing their creations either solo or in small groups. As the afternoon progresses, excitement builds, culminating in a showcase where students admire each other's inventive builds. As one of our longest-running clubs, Lego Club clearly shows how much our students relish the opportunity to use their creativity and imagination, aiming to earn the distinguished title of Lego Master for the term!

E-Sports
Year 3 - Year 6

Our eSports Club offers a dynamic, competitive environment for students in years 3-6 without the physical exertion typically associated with traditional sports. This Club caters to those with a keen interest in the digital realm, providing a platform where students form teams and play strategic games against each other throughout the term. The eSports Club is not only about having fun and enjoying the thrill of competition; it also focuses on developing essential cognitive, social, and technical skills. Participants enhance their strategic thinking, teamwork, communication, and decision-making skills, all within a supportive and engaging setting.

Table Top
Year 3 - Year 6

Tabletop Club, a newer addition tailored for our senior students in Years 3-6. Guided by one of our skilled educators, participants delve into the more challenging and intriguing world of board games, such as 'Hues and Clues', 'Werewolf', and 'Wavelength'. Previously, the Club enjoyed games like Warhammer, and we are currently excited about developing a modified version of Dungeons & Dragons (D&D). Tabletop Club is more than just a game club; it's a developmental hub where students learn essential life skills such as patience, turn-taking, and cooperation. Additionally, it plays a significant role in fostering emotional resilience as students learn to manage both winning and losing gracefully. Join us to experience how strategic play can lead to significant learning and development!

Sports
Year 3 - Year 6

Our Sports Club is a brand-new addition for students in years 3 to 6. Each week, we focus on a different sport, aiming to build foundational skills that can be applied across various athletic activities. By introducing students to a wide range of sports, we strive to engage a diverse group of individuals and help them discover new passions along the way. Through participation in the Sports Club, students develop fundamental movements like running, jumping, and throwing, while gaining confidence and resilience by learning to manage both wins and setbacks. The program emphasises teamwork and communication, critical skills that extend far beyond the field. Exploring diverse sports fosters adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a respect for rules and opponents. It's an excellent way to stay active, learn, and grow together!
